How To Pack Toys For House Moving

Toys come in all shapes and sizes, which then makes it a difficult task to complete when packing for long-distance travel. With a bit of planning and time, you will be able to pack away all your kids' favorite toys safely and securely. Get these supplies ready to get started:

  • Moving boxes (small, medium, and large)
  • Packing paper
  • Tape
  • A marker

Follow these directions:

  • Always remove batteries from toys that will be sitting in storage or extreme temperatures so that they do not corrode.
  • To keep your loose toys neatly packed and secure, line the box with crushed packing paper to give them extra cushion as you pack them inside the box.
  • Keeping small toys and accessories in packing paper or zip-top bags is a great way to keep tiny pieces from getting lost.
  • Larger toys such as toy trucks, board games, action figures, and other toys that get a lot of playtime can be placed in the box. Once the larger items are packed, place the small toy bundles into the same box.
  • Keep delicate toys such as stuffed and other fragile toys (remote control helicopters, model airplanes, model cars, etc.) in a separate box. You can wrap these toys in packing paper if you prefer, or place them directly in the box.
  • Fill gaps with the crushed packing paper to avoid the chances of the toys shifting during the move, which may result in breakage or damage.
  • Tape and label the box: Use packing tape to secure the box shut, then label the box with the word "Fragile."
