DIY Lip Scrub

Having cracking, scaly, and sandpaper lips can be uncomfortable and a tad bit embarrassing, even when you have applied your trusted lip balm. Because once it fades, it’s back to square one. Treat your chapped lips this winter with natural products that you use every day in your homes, such as sweet honey, vanilla, and brown sugar for a lip scrub.

The key to creating a great scrub is combining a gentle exfoliant with natural oils and fatty acids. Why do we love this project? Our lip scrub is simple to make and only requires 4 ingredients, most of which are probably sitting in your cupboard already.

Products you will need:

Coconut Oil
Honey
Brown Sugar
Vanilla

This scrub is simple and refreshing. It combines dry sugar scrub we all know and love with the tranquilizing properties of coconut oil and honey. Did you know that coconut oil and honey provide your lips with plenty of moisturizing properties that are well needed deep into the chilly winter months? Yeap, it’s a jackpot!

How to make lip scrub:

Start by gently melting your coconut oil. Place it in the microwave for 15 seconds and continue with 5-10 seconds intervals if it isn’t liquified after the first round. Next, in a bowl, add honey, brown sugar, vanilla, and coconut oil. Mix to combine. Finally, scoop mixture into jars. Package them into any adorable glass jars for safekeeping or gift-giving.

Your lip scrub will be a runny consistency at first. Give the scrub at least a few hours, if not overnight, to thicken or set in the jars. Once it has set into a thick mixture, mix together with a spoon as the coconut oil will rise to the top and separate.
